Doctor Who RPG

With all the great RPGs out there, and being a life-long Doctor Who fanatic, how could I have never stopped to take a look at this game?  Well finally I had a facepalm moment and started to research this game in hopes that I can gather a group and give it a go.

The Doctor Who roleplaying game was originally published by FASA in 1985, allowing players to become their favorite Doctor, one of his companions or an agent for the CIA (no, not that CIA…the Celestrial Intervention Agency).  The current release, which is published by Cubicle 7 Entertainment ( features box art of David Tennant, the tenth doctor.

The core boxed version, Doctor Who – Adventures in Time and Space, retails for about $48.   This boxed set includes a Player’s Guide, Gamemaster’s Guide, Adventure Book, and Quick Start Guide, plus character sheets, including pre-generated characters for the series cast, and tokens and dice.  Of course you can also purchase separate adventures, an aliens guide and dungeon master’s screen to round out your collection.  The set is definitely a bit pricey if you ask me, but as a diehard Doctor Who fan how could I resist?

So I have gone ahead and ordered the box set and will organize a group to give it a trial run.  Check back in a few weeks for my review of the game and hopefully some videos or “action shots” of our first encounters.
